Rustic Buffalo Sculpture | Once There Were Many
Once There Were Many
15″ High x 17″ Long x 7″ Wide Bronze
The bison once blanketed the prairies of the American West. Nearly hunted to extinction, they were a vital part of the ecosystem. Their herds were accompanied by wolf packs and tribes of Native Americans, which depended upon the bison for their very survival. This particular piece laments the period in our history shortly after the “taming” of the West. Primitive, yet sophisticated, is how I describe the feeling of this sculpture. Your mind can envision the spirit of the regal bison arising from the flow of the molten bronze. This particular piece captures both the inherent beauty of the bronze and the spirit of the surviving bison standing over the panorama of the Great American West.
